the challenge

Convince Industrial Customers to Embrace Digital Solutions.

GE serves a primarily commercial set of customers, from small manufacturers to the world's largest industrial producers. With the rise of IoT and the industrial internet, GE recognized its opportunity to dominate an emerging market category and designed one of the first Industrial IOT platforms—Predix™. But first, they needed to convey digital's value to analog industries that don't readily embrace change.

Engaging and Aligning Stakeholders

Minds & Machines is a two day event where First Person® brought the Predix software to life through a series of keynotes and satellite sessions presented by 15 Executives across 8 Breakouts.

1P helped demonstrate new user experiences through choreographed simulations of live interactions between the executives on stage and expert operators from Gas, Wind and Nuclear power plants across the country.

To support live customer engagements, 1P visualized relatable stories about the industrial internet as told by GE’s C-suite.

Chief Marketing Officer, Niloy Sanyal, shared a story about a recent business trip to draw parallels between consumer and industrial apps to help explain Edge to Cloud computing.

Chief Commercial Officer, Dick Ayres, shared a story about an icy storm hitting the North East that knocks out power to help explain how Asset Performance Management software can reduce unplanned outages.

Customer Stories

Success Across The Value Network

To further underline the value of the Industrial Internet to GE’s global audience, 1P presented the perspectives of three companies, in three verticals, across three countries.

For the 1P team, this required multiple days of shooting on location, and organizing interviews with customers and subject matter experts.

Bord Gais: Ireland

Providing power to 10% of Ireland requires a more efficient and reliable power plant.

Prominent Growers: Netherlands

You say tomato, I say terabyte. These Dutch fruits of the vine are being ripened by software.

Owensboro Municipal: Kentucky

OMU improves efficiency and reduces emissions by 10-17% with digital.
